I found these L.A.M.B. boots on ebay for $89! Super cute- I wish that they had a picture of someone wearing them...

Brand New Bag

I love these new purses from Marc Jacobs. There are quite a few cute ones out right now, which I spied on a visit to Nordstrom yesterday. Most of these are pretty pricey, but they did have one style on sale for about $225. Not cheap, I know, but more definitely more reasonable- a girl can dream, can't she?

Triple Header- Fashion, TV and the Movies

The Newport Beach Film Festival will be playing a new documentary by one of my favorite Project Runway alums, Jay McCarroll. Eleven Minutes will be showing at the Edwards Island I on Sunday 4/26 at 4:00 for those of you who are interested and in the neighborhood. Jay was always a fun guy to watch- this should be entertaining.

The Anti-Wallflower

Maybe you've heard that Matthew Williamson has a series of collections coming out in H&M for summer, beginning 4/23. In case you are not familiar, he is a popular British designer known for his super bright colors and inspirations from nature. A lot of his stuff is a little too Miami Beach for me, but I must admit that I am attracted to a few of the pieces, like this silk tunic, and a chiffony dress with parrots on it. The question is, will this look as cute on a girl who has more of an opalescent skin tone? (Nice euphemism, huh?)

HOT Pants

I love these new pants from Anthropologie for springtime. The light colors are great for the warmer weather, and let's face it, not all of us want to wear Daisy Duke cutoff jean shorts. The grey chambray gauchos have a great fit- tight across the waist and hips, and a pleat that begins further down the leg. Perfect for those of us that don't want to add extra fullness around our hips. The chinos, on the other hand, will look awesome for you girls with little booties, especially if you are balancing out a bigger top section (you know who you are). They are soooo cool- kind of a polished slouchy vibe. Wear either of these with heeled booties or your Chucks...

My kinda game show

Okay, so one of my many guilty pleasures is Project Runway. In general, I'm not the biggest reality t.v. fan for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is because the stations become lazy by creating a miriad of show that are cheap and easy, thereby foregoing the need to provide quality shows with actual writers and actors. Another big reason for me, though, is that I do not particularly enjoy the strife that they build into these "real life" situations. Now, having said that, I am a big fan of Project Runway :). What I love about it are the creative challenges, and how the contestants choose to handle them. That was why I was so excited to hear that the lawsuit between the producers of PR and NBC has ended, and the show will begin again in July on Lifetime. The sixth season finalists showed their collections in NY a few weeks ago, and they are already beginning to cast season 7...
Now imagine how overjoyed I was to hear that Bravo has created its own competitor called The Fashion Show, with Isaac Mizrahi as the host! I'm sorry, but I much prefer the concept of an actual fashion designer being the host (and judge and axe) of a fashion design show to a lingerie model. The Fashion Show begins on May 7- I'll let you know what I think. Now if only it would run on a platform of point accumulation, rather than elimination... what a wuss!
